Why this site exists
When the City of San Diego's Zone 0 requirement took effect in 2026, the information a homeowner needed was scattered across city PDFs, state regulations, and news articles, most of it written for fire officials rather than the person standing in the yard wondering whether the hedge has to go. More than 220,000 San Diego homeowners have to work this out before February 28, 2027. This site puts the rules in one place, in plain English, with the specific answers people are actually searching for.
How the referral works
If you request a quote, we connect you with one independent, licensed, insured local company that does Zone 0 and brush clearance work in your area. They contact you, look at the property, and give you a written quote. Your contract is with them. We may be compensated by the companies we refer to; you are never charged for the referral, and it does not change your price.
